Ingredients for Peri Peri Bites
For the Filling:
* 1 cup cooked and shredded chicken (or crumbled paneer for vegetarian version)
* 2 tbsp mayonnaise
* Adjust to taste with 1 tablespoon of peri-peri sauce.
* 1/2 tsp paprika and flakes of chili red
* 1/2 tsp powder of garlic
* Salt and pepper to taste
* 1/4 cup of shredded cheese, if desired for added depth
Other Ingredients:
* 10–12 large green chilies (mild or medium spice; deseeded)
* 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
* 1 egg (beaten)
* 1 cup breadcrumbs (panko for extra crispiness)
* Oil for deep frying
🥣 Instructions for Peri Peri Bites:
Step 1: Prepare the Chilies
* Wash and dry green chilies.
* Make a lengthwise slit and remove seeds carefully (use gloves to avoid irritation).
* Keep the chilies intact so they can be stuffed easily.
Step 2: Make the Filling
* In a bowl, mix shredded chicken, mayonnaise, peri peri sauce, paprika, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and
Cheese.
* Adjust spice level according to your preference.
Step 3: Stuff the Chilies
* Gently fill each chili with the prepared mixture.
* Press slightly to ensure the filling is secured inside.
Step 4: Coat the Chilies
* Each stuffed chili should be rolled in all-purpose flour.
* Dip in beaten egg, then coat with breadcrumbs.
* For more crunch, repeat the breadcrumb and egg coating (double coating).
Step 5: Fry the Bites
* Heat oil/ghee in a deep pan on medium heat.
* Fry peri peri bites in batches until golden brown and crispy (about 2–3 minutes per Side)
* Drain on paper towels.
